NORFOLK, Neb. -- A fire department was dispatched to a home in northeast Nebraska Saturday afternoon. 

The Norfolk Fire Department reported to a call just after 4 p.m. Saturday where there was smoke coming from the home. 

Authorities say that those who showed up to 304 S 5th Street first told Norfolk Police that there was smoke coming out of the front and back door of the residence. 

The Norfolk Fire Department said that one engine, one aerial apparatus, and two rescue units responded to the scene with eight firefighters.

Officials say the fire was located and quickly extinguished by interior fire crews. They say that overhaul operations were conducted and it found the cause to be failure of a portable electronic device. 

Authorities say that the house had fire damage near the seat of the fire and smoke damage throughout the entire structure.

The Norfolk Fire Department said they were assisted by the Norfolk Police Department, Blackhills Energy, and Nebraska Public Power District. 

There were no injuries reported.
