SIDNEY – It was a match up of two Western Conference teams on a roll Tuesday night at the Cabela’s Athletic facility in Sidney. Sidney entered the match having won 9 of its last 11, while the Cardinals had won 10 of their last 12, which included winning the Western Conference Tournament. However, one of those Chadron losses came at the hands of the Lady Raiders in the Twin Cities Tournament.

It was the third meeting of the year between these two squads with Sidney winning the first two. Tuesday’s match started just like both prior matchups, with Chadron taking the opening set. Sidney, playing without Chloe Ahrens who is out with an injury, led 3-2 and then again at 4-3 in the first set. That was the last time the Lady Raiders would lead in the match until beginning the third set as the Cardinals swept Sidney 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

Chadron was led by Demi Ferguson’s 17 kills on .295 hitting. Tatum Bailey added 8 kills and 6 blocks as the Cardinals improve to 14-12 on the season.

Alecca Campbell paced the Lady Raiders with 10 kills while Karsyn Leeling chipped in 8 kills. Sidney falls to 15-13 on the season and will have the weekend off before going to Gering next Tuesday for a match against the Bulldogs.
