Chadron falls to Gering in wrestling dual

The Chadron boys wrestling team dropped a season opening dual to Gering on Thursday 49-22 but came away with a couple of impressive victories.
The biggest of the night was at 138-lbs where Davin Serres defeated Class B #4 Albert Stone with a 19-6 major decision.
Quinn Bailey was a winner in his varsity debut with a pin in 43-seconds at 145-lbs.
Rhett Cullers got a pin a 170-lbs and Braden Underwood picked one up at 132-lbs.
Chadron will turn around and travel to Cozad for tournament action on Saturday.
Chadron Girls Win Four Golds In First Ever Meet
The Chadron girls wrestling team made history on Thursday in their debut season at the Hemingford “Season Opener” as they captured first in four weight classes.
Taylee Williamson went 4-0 in her matches, pinning each of her opponents in 1:00 or less. Kenli Boeselager went 3-0 in her weight classes and Leila Tewahade pinned the same opponent twice to capture gold at 138-lbs while Addie Diers snagged a couple of pins to win 165-lbs..
Fia Rasmussen was 2nd at 132-lbs, rebounding from an opening loss to pin her final two opponents.
Ember Diers lost both of her matches by pin.
Chadron is off until next Thursday in Valentine.
