SIDNEY - The annual kickoff to summer vacation is Friday in the southern Nebraska Panhandle.

The 22nd Annual KSID Cruisin' Night is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. along Illinois Street in downtown Sidney.

Cruisers in street legal vehicles will be able to enjoy a ride down the Lincoln Highway (Hwy. 30) through the historic downtown district while listening to oldies music from the 1950s and 1960s on 98.7 FM, 95.7 FM and 1340 AM. Music will also be available on newschannelnebraska.com and the free NCN app.

People are encouraged to listen to not only the music, but for opportunities to win prizes and learn about other giveaways. Share photos and video from the event on The Big Boy 987 or Cheyenne County Country social media pages.

Two car shows will be featured for the second consecutive year. The Lincoln Highway Cruisers will host a show and shine event at Hickory Street Square and the Cruisin' Class Car Club will have one at the Pedalers Corner parking lot. The car shows were a new event for Cruisin' Night last year.

There's no charge to enjoy Cruisin' Night or the two car shows. All are welcome to come and drive or sit along the sidewalks on Illinois Street.

Purchase the official Cruisin' Night t-shirt HERE. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Kennedy Roelle, an 11-year-old Leyton Elementary student battling leukemia.
