FAIRBURY - The City of Fairbury is partnering with Fairbury Public Schools, Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging, JeffCo On the Move, the Fairbury Civic Foundation, the Library, and the Veterans Services to raise money to renovate and improve Fairbury's community building.

The project seeks to improve the 1978 building with things like lighting, flooring, the transportation drip off site, senior programming, and improvements to the Gym.    In addition, there is plans to add a walking track and have the ability to have liquor if someone were to rent it for a celebration.

According to Laura Bedlan with the City of Fairbury, the total cost of the project is estimated at $80,000 - $100,000 some of which would be covered by grants.   Those grants require local support and matching funds.  The overall number of donations, whether it be a $10 to a more substantial donation of $5,000 would help show the grant makers that there is community support.

The City is looking to have the donations in place by May 27th, and donations of any amount are welcome and should be made to the Community Center Rehab Project.    For more information, you can contact Laura Bedlan at 402-729-5261.
