LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department arrested a 22-year-old man for a weapon-related charge. 

LPD said officers saw a parked and running vehicle in the alley between 16th/17th and O/P Streets. 

While going to the vehicle, officers said the odor of marijuana smoke emanating from it. 

Officials said they spoke with the driver, 22-year-old Saiveon Hopkins, and the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. 

According to the LPD, there was a probable cause search of the vehicle, during which they found some marijuana cigarettes and empty cannabis flower packages. 

LPD said a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun was found under the front passenger seat, a backpack was found in the truck which had a Glock 45 .9mm with an extended 30 round capacity magazine. 

Authorities said the firearm that was found in the trunk was later found to be reported as stolen out of Denver, Colo.

Hopkins was taken into custody and lodged for possession of a stolen firearm; and was cited and release for carrying a concealed weapon.
