SIDNEY, Neb. — The popular fast-food chain Runza is supporting the TeamMates Mentorship Program. 

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, Runza restaurant locations across Nebraska donated 10 percent of all proceeds made to the TeamMates Program.

The program recruits mentors and who are there to mentor kids through school to help them reach their full potential. The program helps thousands of students across the Midwest.

The volunteer organization has chapters in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Wyoming and South Dakota. The mentors meet students in schools once a week to help them with homework or other life skills.

Runza's Director of Marketing Becky Perrett said, “Runza restaurants is proud to take an active role in each and every community we serve. More than a responsibility, it’s our privilege to positively impact the lives of our neighbors.”

Chief Executive Officer of TeamMates Mentoring Program DeMoine Adams said 85 Runza locations participated in TeamMates day.

“We are so grateful to Runza for supporting our local chapters across Nebraska and Iowa,” Adams said. “TeamMates and Runza are two organizations founded in Nebraska, and we are honored to be able to partner together to support our youth.”

TeamMates Recruitment Coordinator Hannah Miller said the fundraiser total from Tuesday was $44,943.35 for local TeamMates programs.
