Nebraska Orscheln stores transitioning to Tractor Supply, Bomgaars and Buchheit

NEBRASKA — Nearly 20 farm and garden supply stores in Nebraska will be transitioning to a different company.
The Federal Trade Commission announced this week that Tractor Supply Company received clearance to close its acquisition of Orscheln Farm and Home. Tractor Supply will gain 81 net stores and divest 85 stores to Bomgaars and Buchheit.
A news release says the deal is an all-cash transaction that Tractor Supply is financing through its balance sheet. It will acquire 166 Orscheln stores for about $320 million. Proceeds from divesting some of the stores is expected to net about $72 million.
Eight of the former Orscheln stores in Nebraska will become Tractor Supply stores, nine will become Bomgaars stores and two will be Buchheit.
Tractor Supply: Auburn, Broken Bow, Crete, Fairbury, Holdrege, Ord, Seward, Tecumseh
Bomgaars: Gothenburg, Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney, Lexington, Lincoln, McCook, Nebraska City, York
Buchheit: Beatrice, North Platte
