Lutheran High Northeast pulls away from Clarkson-Leigh to advance to Sub-District final

NORFOLK - All roads cross through Norfolk - atleast that will be the case in Thursday's C2-5 Sub-District final as Lutheran High's win over Clarkson-Leigh sets up a battle with Norfolk Catholic.
The Eagles and Patriots squared off at the Norfolk Catholic gym for this neutral site postseason game, as the number two and three seeds in the Sub-District, respectively.
Lutheran-High defeated Clarkson-Leigh roughly a month ago, which was one of the wins that helped the Eagles build a 5-1 record over six games.
Clarkson-Leigh on the otherhand, was in the opposite boat. The Patriots had dropped five games in the last six attempts, looking to rebound with a much needed with on Tuesday night.
Both teams fought hard in the opening quarter, but it was Lutheran High Northeast that battled out to a 16-9 advantage.
The Patriots rallied hard early in the second quarter, bringing the game within two-points.
LHNE managed to end the half on another solid run, putting the Eagles up 28-19 over the Patriots.
Clarkson-Leigh again battled to bring the lead within six points in the third quarter, but the high-powered offense of Lutheran High Northeast, along with a few crucial turnovers, ended up being the achilles heal for the Patriots in the 55-42 loss.
The Eagles were lead by a big three of Braden Feddern with 16 points, Josh Rojas with 14 points and 6 steals, plus a double-double effort from Tate Collison, scoring 10 points with 11 rebounds.
Mason Whitmore continued to battle for Clarkson-Leigh, tallying 20 points in the season-ending loss.
With the Lutheran High Northeast win over Clarkson-Leigh, an exciting contest with Norfolk Catholic is set up on Thursday.
