Johnson-Brock uses 21-1 run to dispatch of Howells-Dodge 56-26

LINCOLN, Neb. — Johnson-Brock gave up a three-pointer to Howells-Dodge to open the game but dominated after that on the way to a 56-26 win on Wednesday night.
The Eagles (23-4) went on a 21-1 run after the Jaguars’ (20-7) opening three-ball to grab a commanding lead. The second quarter went the way of Johnson-Brock 24-8.
While lighting up the scoreboard, the Eagles also excelled defensively. They didn’t allow Howells-Dodge to score until about four minutes into the second half. Both teams unloaded the benches early in the third quarter.
The win puts the Eagles in the state semifinals for the first time since 2019. They will play Maywood-Hayes Center at 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
