POTTER --Monique Trejo was recently recognized by Rep. Adrian Smith's office for her artwork.
"I was pretty surprised," said Trejo.
She submitted a drawing of her younger brother and was recognized as the 2023 NE03 Congressional Art Competition runner-up. Her drawing will be on display at Rep. Smith's Capital Hill office for one year.
Trejo, 16 and a junior, enjoys art.
"I really like being able to take an image in my head and put it on paper," she said.
She submitted a drawing of her brother when he was two or three years of age.
