STANTON - All four schools participating in this year's Stanton Holiday Tournament claimed a victory on Thursday, as Neligh-Oakdale's boys earned their first win of the young season, and the Lutheran High Northeast boys stayed perfect.

The Hartington-Newcastle girls got the party started with a 58-25 win over LHNE. McKenzie Bruning topped all scorers with 18, while Kealy Ranslem led the Eagles with 8.

Lutheran High's boys avenged their counterparts with a resounding 51-34 victory over the Wildcats to remain unbeaten at 10-0. Gavin Feddern came off the bench to pace the Eagles with 17 points, matched by H-N's Riley Sudbeck.

The host school got their win in the next girls game, as the Mustangs edged Neligh-Oakdale 47-42. Becca Stoddard was Stanton's scoring leader with 13, while the Warrior's Hailey Horstmann topped all with 18.

Neligh-Oakdale rounded out the night with the boys notching their first victory of the season 52-39 over Stanton. Chase Furstenau nearly outscored the Mustangs by himself, lighting it up with 36 points. Mitchell Hupp was tops for Stanton with 11.

Consolation games begin today at 2:00, with championships at 5:30.
