BEATRICE – An arrest has been made in connection with a weekend burglary at a north Beatrice business.

Just past midnight Sunday, a police sergeant was dispatched to a burglary at Grateful Green, located in the 18-hundred block of North 6th…or U.S.Highway 77.

The front door of the business had been smashed with a rock.  Police had a suspect from an earlier break-in where the method of entry was the same.

Another officer later made contact with a man on foot, whose description matched that of photos provided by the owner of Grateful Green…showing a suspect inside the business.  Police arrested 41-year-old Christopher Haynes, of Beatrice...who also had an active warrant for his arrest in alleged connection with a prior burglary at the 420 Smoke Shop.

When police arrested Haynes, they said he had possession of several items identified as being stolen from Grateful Green.

Haynes was in custody at the Gage County Jail, on suspicion of burglary, theft by receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
