South wins 66th Nebraska Shrine Bowl 17-10
KEARNEY, Neb. — A late interception sealed the deal for the South team.
Leading 17-10 with under two minutes to play, Hastings St. Cecilia's Dawson Kissinger picked off a pass from Nolan Maahs to set up the victory formation.
Gretna's Isaiah Weber scored both touchdowns for the South. The first was a 2-yard touchdown run, the second was a 60-yard catch on a reverse pass.
The North's lone touchdown was scored by Papillion-La Vista's Preston Prestito.
The South controlled the game with offense. They managed 339 yards compared to 204 for the North and won time of possession 29:15-18:45. Owen Baxter of Lincoln Southeast led the South going 7-10 through the air 133 yards and a touchdown.
