LINCOLN, Neb. -- A new online portal for reporting abusers is now available.
According to a news release, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services division of Children and Family Services is launching a new online portal for reporting suspected child and adult abuse and neglect.
CFS Director Dr. Alyssa Bish said the online portal creates a simple procedure.
“This new website not only simplifies the reporting process, but also makes it easier for CFS to catalogue these reports,” Bish said. “Having such an important tool available to the public is a vital part of making sure we can take action on reports of abuse and neglect in our state.”
The new portal will be accessible 24/7 and will allow individuals to report concern. The website has options for reporting allegations of abuse and neglect against a child and a vulnerable adults.
Users will be asked to include as much information about the victim as possible, including the victim’s personal information and means of communication, the alleged perpetrator, and other household members.
People will also be asked to put their personal information, but they can still choose to remain anonymous.
The online portal neabusehotline-dhhs.ne.gov will complement the existing Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline (1-800-652-1999).
