Beatrice Municipal Airport receives FAA funding

BEATRICE – Several southeast Nebraska airports are getting a financial shot-in-the-arm for various projects.
The Beatrice Municipal Airport will be getting a $4.81 million Airport Improvement Program grant. The formal announcement was made this week by the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division. It was the largest grant announced by the department in Nebraska. The North Platte Regional Lee Bird Field and Omaha Eppley Airfield are both receiving grants of more than $3.4 million each.
The grant funds through the Federal Aviation Administration will pay for reconstruction of an apron and taxiway at Beatrice Municipal. The airport was one of 24 Nebraska airports that are getting a total of $18 million through the F-A-A.
Fairbury’s Municipal Airport is getting a $225,000 grant for hangar design. Falls City’s Brenner Field Airport will get $135,000 to renovate an apron, runway, taxiway and a taxi lane.
The Hebron Municipal Airport is getting a grant of $147,382 to design hangar rehabilitation.
The Nebraska City Municipal Airport will receive $365,573 for constructing a fuel farm. Auburn’s Farrington Field will get a $215,000 F-A-A grant to design a hangar.
The Seward Municipal Airport is being awarded $365,573 to build a hangar.
