Bond set, victim named in Kearney shooting
KEARNEY, Neb. — We're learning more about Sunday's shooting in Kearney that left a man with life-threatening injuries.
Suspect Karen Geisler, 56, appeared for her arraignment on Monday. A judge set her bond at 10% of $500,000. She will be appointed a public defender. Geisler is next due in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 14.
The court sealed the affidavit, which contains details of the investigation. Other court documents reveal that the victim is Jimmy Geisler, Karen's husband, and that she is accused of using a .38 revolver in the shooting.
We do not have an update on the victim's condition. A police news release said an ambulance transported him to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney on Sunday. As of Monday afternoon, he was not listed as a patient at the hospital.
