Armed man arrested in attempted stabbing incident in Alliance
ALLIANCE, Neb. - An armed man was arrested early Thursday morning following a report of an attempted stabbing and break-in at a residence in Alliance, according to authorities.
Alliance Police Chief David Leavitt said officers were dispatched around 3 a.m. to a home where a man was reportedly trying to force his way inside. The suspect, George Coulton King, 31, is accused of kicking the door, accompanied by several other individuals.
Officers responded to the scene and found King standing at the residence’s door holding a knife. Police said King complied with commands to surrender and was taken into custody. A search of King uncovered a second knife and am unused syringe.
An investigation revealed King allegedly forced his way inside the home and threatened to stab a male resident. Two victims told police King also threatened their lives. Officers found boot marks consistent with the victims' account on the door.
King was booked into the Box Butte County Jail and faces several charges, including terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, attempted second-degree assault and disturbing the peace.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
