PIERCE - The Pierce girls basketball team entered Friday as heavy favorites, and they wasted no time putting away Lutheran High Northeast.

The Blue Jays routed the Eagles 53-12. Pierce's defense forced 28 turnovers and never let Lutheran High get comfortable offensively, holding the Eagles to 13 percent shooting from the field. 

The win was Pierce's 7th straight over Lutheran High, a streak that dates back to 2012.
