Bridgeport man scheduled for pretrial on multiple charges including sex assault on a juvenile

BRIDGEPORT, Neb. – A Bridgeport man is scheduled for pretrial in June on multiple charges, including sexual assault of a juvenile.
Jesse D. Russell, 33, is set to appear in Morrill County District Court on June 2 for a pretrial hearing. He faces charges of third degree sexual assault of a juvenile, second offense (Class IC felony), intentional child abuse (Class IIIA felony), disturbing the peace (Class III misdemeanor), and negligent child abuse (Class I misdemeanor).
According to court records, Russell is accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile female. He was arrested at a residence in Bridgeport in December 2024 by the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office.
Russell entered a plea of not guilty on April 7.
He is currently listed on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry following a 2011 conviction in Scotts Bluff County District Court for first degree sexual assault of a minor.
The case remains ongoing.
